Oh look, a xanga entry!  I decided to comment on my cousin's page and figured while I was signed in, I might as well post.  (Kudos to Genny for breaking the dry spell!)

I have three part time jobs, substitute teaching, facilitating at Peace Unlimited, and working special events at the Albrecht-Kemper Art Museum in St. Joe.  I also seem to be acquiring numerous opportunities for volunteer work.  (Everyone wants you to work for them for free!  What a surprise!)  See how valuable my college education is?  (Note slight bitterness.) I used to say I wanted to be a professional volunteer, however,  it would work a lot better financially if I had a sugar daddy.

I have a hunch I'd hate myself if I actually had a sugar daddy, so it's fortunate that they are few and far between here in the middle of nowhere.  (Young, good-looking sugar daddies are nonexistent.)

I'm looking at grad schools for next fall.  So far my selections are (in no particular order) University of Missouri in St. Louis, University of Kansas (KU) in Lawrence, and University of Michigan (Ann Arbor).  I've visited KU and UMSL's Museum Studies programs so far.  If anyone decides they're up for a road trip to see the school or SAI birthplace sometime next spring, they should give me a call.  I'm not one for long road trips all by myself.

Tschuss!

Since I'm Avoiding Writing the Paper That's Due Tomorrow

Top 10 Reasons Why Alison is a Weird Roommate

10.
She doesn't fold her underwear.
9. She has an obsession with fish.
8. Particulartly Nemo, from the Disney movie "Finding Nemo"
7. She likes to fish, but doesn't eat the fish she catches. (Isn't this somewhat pointless?)
6. She doesn't eat leftovers, really it seems like ever.
5. She's allergic to dogs, but is living in a house with one next year.  Did you know God made hypo-allergenic dogs?  I sure didn't!
4. She's obsessed with watching Animal Planet.
3. She doesn't like rootbeer.  Or roast, porkchops, sausage, breakfast in the morning, and a lot of other foods that I'm not thinking of right now.
2. She insists on turning on the air conditioner in April.
1.  She sleeps with a bar of soap that she smells periodically.

The stew is simmering

It's finally happening!  My senior sem paper is starting to take over my mind, which is exactly what I need to happen.  I'm almost getting to the point where I want to start writing, but I don't think I'm quite to that point.  It could be the fact that I'm writing this at 1:30 in the morning that makes that seem like a good idea.  Kudos to Shannon and midnight walks!
In other news, I think I'm going to apply for an internship in St. Louis with the Missouri Historical Society.  That's all I really feel like writing right now.   XOXO

I don't feel like I have anything interesting to say; yet I've decided to update my xanga anyway.  If that bothers you, you can stop reading now.  It's been a crazy week; it's about to be a crazy month.  I have sooo much work to do.  It all seems to be in the form of projects and papers too, so I'm having a hard time being motivated about  getting started on stuff.
I've been ordering books for my senior seminar paper.  It's getting ready to move in and take over not just my life, but my brain as well.  Actually, it's already starting to.  In about a month, I can evict it, but by that time, I'll be smack in the middle of finals.  Hooray for graduation!  Maybe.  I'm looking forward to it in some ways and not so much in others.  I really love it here; all my friends and I like most of the classes I'm taking this semester, but I don't have enough time to devote to everything I want to give time to.  It's very frustrating.  I have a list of things I'd like to do after graduation:  books I want to read, movies to watch, sleep to catch up on, people to see, etc.  I'm looking forward to being able to do those things, but I'm also anxious about leaving.
I bought more coffee last night.  I'm betting this new package will be about gone by the time finals are over.  That seems to be the way it works.  I guess I can kick the caffeine habit I'll be developing after finals are over.  That's probably not very healthy, but you do what you have to.
If you haven't heard yet, the Grand Canyon was amazing.  I'm so glad that I went!

I swear, I only took this quiz once and I did not try to rig the results!!

You Are Root Beer

Ultra sweet and innocent, you have a subtle complexity behind your sugary front.

Children love you, but so do high end snobs... when you're brewed right.

Your best soda compatibility match: Dr. Pepper

Stay away from: Diet Coke
